Below is a list of the best ways to save money on insurance costs that we’ve come across over the last few years of helping people. We have no affiliation with any of the companies we mention - we don’t benefit from anyone using them.
We will update the list when we discover new opportunities to save money on bills, and we will continue to connect customers to as many of them as possible during our calls.

If you live in social housing, talk to your landlord about whether they have signed up to a tenants insurance scheme. There are some brilliant options available - some as little as 37p a week for £4k of cover for household items and there are no credit checks, no excess to pay and you don’t need special locks on your doors. Some of the main scheme registered social landlords are signed up to are:
Tenants’ Contents Insurance provided by AON in partnership with Aviva
My Home Contents Insurance provided by Thistle Insurance Services in partnership with The National Housing Federation
If you are a home owner or private renter, it is always best to use a price comparison site - the same level of cover can vary by up to 40% across providers! Here is a great article with tips for how to secure the cheapest deals, such as never auto-renewing and asking for quotes 21 days before your current policy ends.

Car insurance costs have increased by around 50% in the last year so it is essential to shop around for the best deal. There are great price comparison sites you can use, but make sure you consider these tips first:
Altering your job title can save £100s! For example, changing your job status from ‘unemployed’ to ‘not in employment’ can save around £100. Use this tool to work out the best job title to enter into the comparison sites.
Being registered to vote at your current address can reduce your insurance quote because providers see it as a sign of stability. Use this link to get on the electoral roll if you aren’t already.
Whilst it might not seem logical, adding an extra driver to your policy can reduce your premium, sometimes by £100s of pounds, especially if you are seen as a ‘high risk’ - for example, by adding a parent onto a young person’s insurance.
The lower your annual mileage, the cheaper your insurance premium will be (because the less time you are on the road, the less chance there is of an accident)
Always make sure you negotiate your insurance - never auto-renewal! Even if you plan to stay with your current insurer, if you call them to suggest you might leave then they will more than likely reduce the renewal quote for you.
